K3B - TAO Writing Mode

If you are using K3B and get the message:
"sometimes using tao writing mode solves this issue"
You will have to change writing mode on this (or similar) screen from "Auto" to "TAO".

@Dan the Man:

Dan, the board I was using had limited support for SATA cdroms. I updated the bios, but still had tons of issues.

I've since upgraded my PC and my OS, so I can no longer speak for the article. Sorry! Please post or cross-link if you have any success!
